Back in 2007 Matthew & Hannah were working at Calcot Manor, just 5 minutes away from Nailsworth and a chance encounter led Matthew and Hannah to view a restaurant and rooms called ‘Mad Hatter’s’ Restaurant on Cossack Square in Nailsworth, a quirky organic restaurant and rooms with a strong local reputation.  In November 2007 Matthew and Hannah took over and re-opened as Wild Garlic.

A labour of love – Matthew and Hannah have worked tirelessly to create a restaurant and rooms that uses elements of all the things that have inspired them through their journey together.  Wild Garlic embodied their passionate beliefs about food and genuine hospitality.  Within the first three months of opening, Wild Garlic was awarded 2 AA rosettes and four gold stars for their rooms

Now in their 16th year, with a three beautiful girls to complete their family, Matthew and Hannah have cemented their reputation in the foodie Cotswold town of Nailsworth.

Lock down meant a refocusing on the two business and led to the transformation from the ground floor restaurant to two self catering apartments. Allowing Wild Garlic to concentrate on its popular accommodation.

Matthew’s cooking is now firmly focused at their Fine Dinning Tasting Restaurant Wilder, which opened in November of 2017 which has been awarded Three AA rosettes.
